Aftermarket torque converters put more stress on input shafts with increased fluid coupling compared to sloppy stock converters. Increased power levels and heavy loads can result in shaft fracture. Stripped splines in hub is not too uncommon. For increased reliability and piece of mind, a billet input shaft and hub are highly recommended.
